The Three-Step Process

The World Land Trust advocates that organisations seeking to offset their emissions follow three essential steps:

• Assess current emissions: By conducting a free carbon emissions audit, the WLT provides organisations with the opportunity to assess their carbon footprint.
• Reduce emissions: We urge that organisations take steps to reduce their carbon footprint and suggest websites providing advice on how to reduce your emissions.
• Offset unavoidable emissions: Whilst every effort must be made to reduce emissions at source, some emissions may be unavoidable, at least in the short-term. Through Carbon Balanced habitat conservation and restoration projects, the WLT can help you offset these unavoidable emissions.

By following these three steps, organisations can both reduce their impact on the climate and make a valuable contribution to global biodiversity conservation.
